My passion for discovery lead me into art. Oil painting fills me with a sense of accomplishment and has proven a wonderful vehicle for translating my feelings, perceptions and creativity into a concrete reality.
My paintings are a point of view, cropped from a time and place. It doesn’t matter if it is a landscape, still life, portrait or a figurative painting… the purpose of my work still the same: exploring that unique characteristic of the relationship of a particular time and place and my own perception of them.
In my art I focus on formal elements, working to achieve perfect tonal/value balance, harmony and rhythm. The placement of equally intense hues within a color family is an effort to achieve a lyrical pleasure.
My influences are first and foremost everything I see, hear, taste, feel and experience
