Joni was born and raised in Winona along the Mississippi River loving anything and everything related to the Driftless area. As a child, I was always coming home with a stray snake, lonely frog or injured bird and always had a pair of binoculars or camera around my neck. Today, as a Minnesota Master Naturalist and retired violinist, I have developed an intimate relationship with the Natural world around me with its wonder, emotion, music, textures, aromas and vibrant colors. My camera and lens have become my instrument that leads me out into Nature and nurtures my creativity and passion. My goal is to bring to life these emotions to my viewers through my fine art Nature Photography.
I am inspired daily with almost childlike wonder to all of the beauty of plants and animals that surround me along the Mississippi River while bringing me closer to Nature as I quietly sit side by side with her. Photography allows me to see into the depths of the souls of all that I encounter and ultimately bring that life into my images.
