Christie Clarke of Northfield, MN creates one of a kind slab built pottery that can evoke thoughts of ancient objects yet have an unmistakably contemporary sensibility. Each piece is individually textured and colored with underglaze and glazes that create unique surfaces.
She is a member of the MNWCA, the MN Women Ceramic Association and has exhibited with them in the Twin Cities, the Anderson Center for the Arts in Red Wing MN, Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. She also has exhibited with the Cannon River Clay Tour, Northfield Fine Craft Collective, the Southeast MN Studio ArTour, the Minnesota State Fair Art Show, and has a piece is in the permanent collection of the Goldstein Museum of Design at the University of Minnesota and in the Red Wing Art Museum collection. Her work is sold at the Grand Hand Gallery in St. Paul, Red Wing Arts in Red Wing, the Northfield Arts Guild in Northfield and the SEMVA Gallery in Rochester. Her work is featured in the international 2023 calendar through ICAN, the International Ceramic Arts Network which publishes Ceramics Monthly and Pottery Making Illustrated.
Clarke Graduated from Purdue University and was a secondary art teacher as well as working as a potter. Her studio is in her home in Northfield, MN.
