“I am thrilled to be able to paint. The object of my painting is light. What light does to the color and form never ceases to fascinate me. Light provides endless possibilities. They are momentary but can be explored and enjoyed by observation and interpretation. It is a privilege to ponder and to communicate it in my paintings.” In His light, we see light. Psalm 36:9
A native of Korea, HeeJune came to USA to study nutrition. With a master’s degree in public health nutrition, she is now pursuing the study of painting. As a member of Oil Painters of America and a signature member of MN Watercolor Society, she received many awards including First honors. Her paintings were accepted at the Fine Arts Exhibition, at the MN State Fair in 2002, 2008 and 2012. Tuscan Vineyard was the featured painting of thewinefest.org for U. of M. Amplatz Children’s Hospital in 2011. Through her interest in art history and travels to museums around the world, she is inspired to become a representational artist of the post impressionism era with an emphasis on visual perception of color. She defines herself as a Colorist in the tradition of Monet in France and Hawthorne-Hensche in USA.
Her original paintings, prints, and cards are available at the SEMVA art gallery.
